One quarter of the bones in the entire human body are found in the feet. There are 33 joints between all these bones that allow your foot to be both a hard, rigid lever as well as a cushioned shock absorber for your body.  You can rely on our foot expertise as our owner, Jean Sears, is a past president of the national Pedorthic Footcare Association. Our other Certified Pedorthists have been highly trained to help you with your foot and shoe needs.

Cantilever Shoe Store specializes in finding the right pair of shoes and/or inserts for your foot shape. Whether you have a medical condition, or are active on your feet, if your feet hurt we can help.

We work closely with local area physicians and help many of their patient's regarding foot care. We'll examine your foot, attempt to discover likely causes for your pain, and make recommendations on sizing and shapes so you can find the right style for your feet.

Diabetes is the leading cause of non-traumatic amputations of the feet and lower limbs.? Without appropriate diabetic care from your medical professionals, diabetes can be a slippery slope to severe diabetic foot and lower limb problems.

If you believe you have diabetes or have been diagnosed with same, caring for your feet is one of the important aspect of your diabetic care.

Our job for the diabetic client is to help protect your feet from troublesome pressure or friction that can be associated with ill fitting shoes and inserts.

We help take away the pain and pressure, and make you more comfortable by matching your feet with  well fitting shoes and inserts. Most insurance companies, including Medicare, will help pay for well fitting shoes and inserts for the at-risk diabetic patient. We accept Medicare, Humana, People's Health, and Workers Compensation.

If you believe you have diabetes, do yourself a favor. Contact your diabetic medical professional and make sure you are not one of the "foot at-risk" patients. According to current Medicare standards, "foot at-risk" may include, but is not limited to, a foot callous, a foot ulceration, abnormal foot redness or temperature, a toe bunion, or a foot deformity.

Cantilever Shoe Store is renowned for our craftsmanship and dedication to your foot comfort, which is why many medical professionals across the New Orleans metro area refer their patients to us for diabetic shoe and insert foot care. Let us help you, too.
